Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for the Outpatient Pharmacy at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center. You will dispense medications in a fast-paced, high-volume setting and interact with patients and clinicians.

No prior experience required; one year of retail experience preferred. Wisconsin licensure and certification requirements apply; strong math, communication, and computer skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develops competence in dispensing and delivery of medications.
• Develops competence in entering medication orders in the computer system and/or processing medication requests via the computer system.
• Develops competence in managing phone calls from customers and team members such as nurses, physicians or patients, with timely resolution or hand-off.
• Complies with legal, regulatory, and department requirements of pharmacy practice.
• Develops competence in the department’s use of information systems, technology, and automation used for dispensing and storage of medications.
