Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking an Outpatient Technician Coordinator to support the medication access process. After a 4–6 week training, you will decipher MSOT prescriptions in EPIC, process claims and determine eligibility, and help obtain financial assistance.

You will answer phones, capture payments, and coordinate medication fills, while working across outpatient pharmacy and specialty office teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Computer experience required.
• Good math skills and strong organizational abilities.
• Detail oriented with accuracy and timeliness.
• Team player able to collaborate with nursing, pharmacy and case management.
• Ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal communication in person and on the phone.
• Microsoft Windows proficiency and willingness to learn more software.
• Pharmacy technician licensure is required or will be expected.
• Experience with hospital/billing or retail pharmacy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gather insurance information and coordinate medication needs from prescribing through patient receipt.
• Ensure adherence to therapy with outbound calls and refill coordination.
• Communicate with clinic staff and pharmacy to complete tasks promptly for optimal patient experience.
• Review EMR and other records to determine next steps and document thoroughly.
