Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a Pharmacy Financial Coordinator dedicated to 100% patient care within the pharmacy program. This 1.0 FTE role reports to the PFC Supervisor and focuses on coordinating medication access and financial assistance for patients.

The position requires 3–5 years of prior authorization experience, strong knowledge of prescription insurance, and excellent communication. Hybrid work options are available, with a mission to improve patient access to therapies.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of prior authorization experience through pharmacy benefit.
  • Strong knowledge of medical and/or prescription insurance policies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time efficiently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate medication access and financial assistance for patients.
  • Perform pharmacy insurance benefit investigations and prior authorizations.
  • Coordinate prescription drug appeals and patient assistance programs.
  • Assist eligible patients in navigating manufacturer programs and coverage options.
  • Troubleshoot complex pharmacy benefit billing issues.
