Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare seeks an Outpatient Pharmacist to dispense medications and provide patient counseling in the outpatient setting. The role involves ensuring accuracy, safety, and timely processing, with on-call support for the specialty pharmacy as needed.

The pharmacist will educate patients, review therapies, supervise interns and technicians, manage inventory, and coordinate with other departments to maintain quality care. Excellent customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate from NABP accredited pharmacy college.
• Current US pharmacist license in state where work is being performed.

Responsibilities

• Provide top notch customer service following AIDET.
• Reviews and monitors patient treatment medications for appropriateness based on guidelines and patient criteria.
• Provides final professional review and verification of prescription filling and offsite facility orders with pharmacist checks.
• Provides accurate drug information to patients, medical staff, and nursing staff.
• Supervises and directs Interns and Technicians and mentors staff.
• Maintains inventory and order management; ensures product is on hand and ordered from wholesalers.
• Acts as liaison to other departments within the healthcare system.
• Maintains licensure and ongoing competency assessments; stays updated on current practice standards.
