Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC Health) East Mt. Pleasant outpatient clinic seeks a Patient Care Technician to support a decentralized, patient-centered approach under RN supervision. You will assist with rooming patients, taking vitals and history, and EMR documentation.

This 20-hour weekly, daytime role offers no evenings, weekends or holidays, with on-site parking. The team includes RNs, LPNs, CMAs and PCTs committed to patient care excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required within 2 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining patient safety and education.
• Room patients and take vitals and health history.
• Document in EMR; do not order or administer medications.
• Measure vital signs: temp, pulse, resp, BP, pain, oxygen sat.
• Record height, weight, and body measurements as needed.
• Assist with nutrition, hygiene, elimination, ambulation, and comfort.
• Prepare patients for exams and minor procedures.
• Perform clerical duties to support clinic operations.
• Schedule tests and use proper communication tools.
• Establish caring relationships and elicit information on symptoms.
• Use medical equipment safely per guidelines; ensure safety.
• Demonstrate customer service using AIDET and MUSC Excellence.
