Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 2 weeks of hire and maintained.
• Physical requirements include standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, and repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining patient safety and providing patient education.
• Room patients, take vitals and health history, document in electronic medical record (no medications ordered/administered).
• Measure vital signs, height/weight, and relevant body circumferences as needed.
• Assist with nutrition, hygiene, elimination, ambulation and comfort needs.
• Prepare patients for exams and minor office procedures.
• Schedule tests and procedures and maintain clinic communications.
• Establish caring relationships with patients and gather symptom information.
• Use medical equipment safely per guidelines to ensure safety.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service using AIDET and MUSC standards.
