Job summary

MUSC Health East in Mt. Pleasant, SC is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support a decentralized patient-centered approach under RN supervision. You will assist with rooming patients, taking vitals, documenting in EMR, and coordinating care across specialties.

This daytime role offers tuition reimbursement, a clinical ladder, cross-training opportunities, and a collaborative team. A high school diploma and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or GED is required.
• Licensure: Basic Life Support within 2 weeks of hire; current BLS certification required.
• Physical requirements: ability to stand, walk, sit and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining patient safety and provide education.
• Room patients, take vitals and health history; document in EMR.
• Measure vitals: temp, pulse, resp, BP, pain, oxygen saturation.
• Measure height and weight, and body circumferences as appropriate.
• Assist with nutrition, hygiene, elimination, ambulation and comfort needs.
• Prepare patients for exam and minor procedures.
• Schedule tests and procedures; use appropriate communication tools.
