Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) invites applications for a Patient Care Technician (PCT). Working under the Nurse Manager and RN supervision, you will support a patient-centered care approach in the clinic, performing multi-skilled tasks to aid outcomes.

Responsibilities include triaging patients (vital signs, health screenings, height/weight), rooming, cleaning rooms, and assisting with ECGs and other procedures. There is potential to work with providers in running the clinic.

Qualifications

• 1 year of patient-care experience in a health care setting or MUSC CHS PCT I position.
• Active enrollment in nursing school or healthcare-related program is acceptable.
• Basic Life Support certification within 2 weeks of hire and maintained thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients with vital signs and health screenings.
• Room patients and assist nurses with ECGs and other procedures.
• Clean rooms and support providers in clinic operations.
• Assist in running the clinic when needed.
