Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support patient-centered care under RN supervision. The PCT conducts nursing tasks and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to meet patient needs in accordance with MUSC standards.

Minimum requirements include 1 year of patient care experience or related education, BLS certification, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks. This is a rotating shift, hourly wage position at MUSC CHS 7E.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements: at least 1 year of work experience in a .6 FTE PCT I position at MUSC CHS or 1 year of patient care work experience in a health care facility; or a college degree, or active enrollment in nursing school with completion of Nursing Fundamentals.
• Credentials: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 2 weeks of hire; maintain.
• Physical requirements describe ability to perform job functions in various physical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Direct and lead other assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care.
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment and participate in professional practice and governance.
