Tampa General Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida seeks an Advanced Practice Provider for Outpatient Palliative Care to deliver comprehensive symptom management and compassionate support for patients with serious illnesses.

The role emphasizes autonomous practice within a collaborative team and coordination across settings. The APP will conduct goals-of-care discussions, manage complex symptoms, and educate patients and families while aligning care with patient values and preferences.

Qualifications

• Must have Florida licensure as APRN/PA.
• Experience in outpatient palliative care preferred.
• New graduates with strong interest in palliative care may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient palliative care evaluations and follow-ups.
• Manage complex symptoms (pain, dyspnea, nausea, fatigue, anxiety, depression).
• Conduct goals-of-care discussions and advance care planning.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
• Coordinate care across settings (primary care, home health, hospice).
• Order and interpret diagnostics as clinically indicated.
• Educate patients and families on disease trajectory and available services.
• Document encounters in the EMR.
• Promote evidence-based care and contribute to quality improvement.
