Job summary

The Cancer Center of South Florida is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider to practice at the Tampa General Hospital Cancer Institute in collaboration with the Outpatient Solid Tumor Oncology team, delivering high-quality, patient-centered cancer care in a multidisciplinary setting.

The APP will function as an independent healthcare provider, responsible for comprehensive care to patients in active treatment, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, and care

Qualifications

• Active RN and APRN license in Florida.
• Board certification as NP in: Adult; Adult/Gerontology; Acute Care; Family.
• Acute Care Certification required or oncology experience with a supervising MD letter verifying experience or AOCNP certification (500 hours required).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health history and physical assessments.
• Establish medical diagnoses alongside the physician.
• Oversee treatment infusions and supportive care needs.
• Write orders within scope of practice including chemotherapy.
• Manage general medical/surgical conditions with pharmacologic agents knowledge.
• Provide direction to clinic staff on follow-up care issues.
• Coordinate care with referring physicians and care team members.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation.
• Participate in oncology/hematology quality and research projects.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and survivorship.
• Engage in continuous learning and on-call coverage.
