Job summary

Norwalk Hospital Association seeks an RN to provide parenteral therapy to stable adult outpatients in a hospital-based infusion center. Requires CT RN license; ADN is required, BSN preferred. Oncology chemotherapy/biological therapy certification within 90 days; BLS required.

Minimum experience is zero to six months with excellent IV insertion skills. Responsibilities include patient education, policy-based care, and participation in professional activities within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Current CT RN license required.
• Associate's degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Oncology chemotherapy and Biological Therapy Certification within 90 days of start date.
• Basic Life Support Certification required.
• Zero to six months experience (minimum) acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide parenteral therapy to stable adult outpatients in a hospital-based infusion center.
• Administer chemotherapy/IV therapy per policy and consult resources as needed.
• Educate patients and families; assess teaching needs and document effectiveness.
• Participate in unit-based activities and professional development; maintain compliance with standards.
