Job summary

Eskenazi Health is seeking a Clinical Oncology/Hematology Coordinator to manage the outpatient oncology/hematology care process for cancer and blood disorder patients. You will collaborate with referring physicians, nursing leadership, infusion staff, and the broader care team to coordinate care across the continuum.

The role emphasizes education for patients and families, documentation, and adherence to regulatory standards while improving workflow and patient outcomes within a 327-bed hospital

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• One year of clinical nursing experience required; three years preferred.
• Current Indiana license as an RN or eligibility for license in Indiana.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate oncology/hematology care with a patient-centered approach.
• Schedule new oncology/hematology patients using scheduling software.
• Serve as main contact for physicians and patients, documenting communications.
• Assist with appointment scheduling, prescription refills, and test result communications.
• Obtain pre-certification/pre-authorization for services and medications.
• Provide education on cancer care, chemotherapy, palliative and hospice services.
• Assist in developing care protocols and training staff on procedures.
• Ensure compliance with patient information reporting and participate in performance improvement.
• Support operational troubleshooting to improve quality and cost-effective care.
• Report and manage patient care data; participate in Tumor Board.
