Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to coordinate patient care under the supervision of a provider. You will prepare patients, document vitals, reviews of medication lists, and assist with examinations in a team-based clinical setting.

The role involves supporting office operations, adhering to AHN protocols, and may include scribe duties and patient follow-up using the preferred communication method. Eligibility for certification and adherence to HIPAA standards are required.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or GED or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Must obtain certification within 120 days if already eligible; certification options include NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients and obtain vitals; document patient history and screening results.
• Maintain EHR documentation and accurate lab controls; assist with examinations and procedures.
• May serve as a scribe with additional training and provide follow-up with patients as directed.
