Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care within a team-based clinical setting. Under supervision, you will coordinate examinations, document vitals and history, prepare exam rooms and assist with procedures.

You will perform back office testing, document accurately in the EHR, and ensure supplies are stocked while adhering to HIPAA and AHN policies. Some roles may involve travel between offices.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Certification required within 120 days of hire; MA certification from NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA preferred.
• Associate's degree is a plus; not required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients, obtain vitals, review medications and history.
• Perform back office testing and assist providers with examinations.
• Document in EHR and maintain inventory as per policy.
