Job summary

Community Physicians in Oakbrook Terrace, IL is seeking a reliable, patient-centered Part-Time Medical Assistant to join our clinical operations team. You will work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and administrative staff to deliver high-quality outpatient care in a fast-paced practice.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, assisting during exams, collecting specimens, handling follow-up calls, and ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential preferred.
• Active CPR / BLS certification required (or willingness to obtain prior to start date).
• 1+ years of outpatient clinic or medical office experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with EHR platforms (Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth) and basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vital signs, document in the EHR, and update medication lists.
• Prepare exam rooms, sanitize equipment, stock supplies, and assist providers during examinations.
• Collect basic lab specimens and record results in patient charts.
• Manage follow-up calls, communicate test results, process routine refills, and handle paperwork.
• Maintain safety, OSHA, infection control, and HIPAA compliance.
