Job summary

Raleigh Comprehensive Treatment Center, part of Comprehensive Treatment Centers, seeks a Substance Use Counselor to support patients with opioid use disorder through individual and group counseling, assessments, and treatment planning.

You will work in an outpatient MAT setting with a multidisciplinary team, coordinating care, documentation, and referrals. The role emphasizes early hours and strong growth opportunities in a leading addiction treatment network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Bachelor's or Master's preferred.
• Degree from accredited college/university with practicum for licensure.
• Experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings.
• Familiarity with MAT: methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
• Experience conducting individual and group counseling sessions.
• Knowledge of CBT, MI, and relapse prevention techniques.
• Documentation experience per state and federal guidelines.
• Familiarity with state regulatory standards (42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA).
• Experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, compassionate guidance in individual and group sessions.
• Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient recovery.
• Co-facilitate group or family sessions as needed.
• Ensure timely and clear documentation of patient care, treatment, and incidents.
• Prepare individual treatment plans for assigned patients.
• Perform initial assessments and follow-ups as needed.
• Evaluate patient needs and arrange referrals to other programs.
• Plan for aftercare when appropriate.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed.
• Perform case management to ensure quality care.
• Act as liaison between referral sources and patients.
