Job summary

WVU Medicine seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to support physicians and provide direct patient care in our outpatient setting in Morgantown, WV. You will screen patients, administer medications, take vital signs, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient clinic flow.

You’ll work with a supportive team in a standard clinical environment, with emphasis on patient safety, documentation, and compassionate care for diverse patient populations.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in the state where services are provided.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Outpatient nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care to patients in an outpatient medical office setting.
• Uses standards of care to guide care delivery.
• Administers IM, subcutaneous, and oral medications as ordered.
• Consults with the Provider or RN for guidance in care delivery.
• Obtains instruction from Provider or RN when implementing nursing techniques.
• Performs designated procedures as needed.
• Records and reports patient concerns, symptoms, and progress.
• Assists Providers and RN with examinations and procedures.
• Uses supplies cost-effectively to contain costs.
• Provides emotional support to patients and families.
• Maintains patient flow and coordinates scheduling as needed.
• Measures height, weight, vitals, and chief complaints; records data.
