Job summary

WVU Medicine is seeking an LPN to provide direct nursing care in an outpatient setting and act as the primary contact to screen patients. The role involves assisting with examinations, administering medications, and ensuring accurate documentation and communication with physicians.

Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, coordinating with RNs and providers, and supporting efficient clinic operations while delivering compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in the state where services will be provided or via eNLC.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care to patients in an outpatient medical office setting.
• Uses standards of care and standards of practice to guide care.
• Administers IM, subcutaneous, and oral medications as ordered.
• Consults with Provider or RN for guidance in care delivery.
• Obtains instruction and supervision from Provider or RN when implementing techniques.
• Performs designated therapeutic procedures as needed.
• Observes and reports patient concerns and progress to the Provider promptly.
• Assists Providers and RN with examinations and procedures.
• Utilizes supplies cost-effectively to help contain costs.
• Provides emotional support to patients and families.
• Participates in problem solving to ensure staffing and patient needs are met.
• Obtains medical information, records vital signs, and screens chief complaints.

Education

LPN license (state) or multi-state LPN via eNLC
