Job summary

The position requires a Master’s in psychology, social work, or counseling, plus licensure or addictions credentialing, with experience in substance abuse and mental health therapy.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in a relevant field is required.
• Certification as Addictions Professional or licensure as Clinical Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist required.
• Experience with the target population preferred.
• Knowledge of DSM and diagnostic formulation is essential.

Responsibilities

• Conducts individual, group, and/or family psychotherapy as indicated by diagnosis and treatment plan.
• Develops an individual treatment plan and updates it as client needs change.
• Provides ongoing assessment of co-occurring symptoms and treatment response.
• Educates and supports clients and families; advocates for clients' rights.
• Documents client progress in SMA's EMR to maintain a permanent record.
• Participates in staff meetings and treatment planning reviews.
• Coordinates with outside services to address client needs.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
