Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor to join the outpatient behavioral health team. Expect to support clients with evidence-based counseling and personalized treatment planning in a welcoming setting during daytime hours.

Relocation assistance and a sign-on bonus may be available for qualified candidates. A bachelor’s degree and Minnesota licensure path are required, with strong clinical skills and commitment to recovery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or exempt under Minnesota Statutes, chapter 148F.
• 40 hours of continuing education every two years plus mandatory trainings.
• Minnesota licensure pathway: LADC, ADC-T, or exempt from licensure.

Responsibilities

• Assess addiction severity and related issues to support recovery.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and deliver interventions.
• Provide treatment through individual therapy, groups, and case management.
• Document assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Educate team members about chemical dependency and health.
• Collaborate with other providers and refer to community resources.
• Possibly provide adolescent assessment/treatment with qualifications.
• Operate within licensure scope and professional competence.
