Job summary

The Brien Center for Mental Health in Massachusetts is seeking an Insurance Access Specialist to ensure clients have continuous, active health coverage and to assist with applications, renewals, and problem resolution. You will identify uninsured or underinsured clients and work directly with MassHealth and other programs to remove barriers to care.

Responsibilities include educating clinical teams on insurance basics, coordinating with agencies, and documenting interactions per agency

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience working with public benefits, health insurance programs, or in a case management setting.
• Working knowledge of MassHealth, the Massachusetts Health Connector, Medicaid, and other health insurance programs.
• Bilingual or bicultural candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with electronic health records or case tracking systems.
• Demonstrated organizational and problem‑solving skills; ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Identify uninsured or underinsured clients and assist with insurance applications, renewals, and problem resolution.
• Provide direct support to clients in applying for MassHealth or other plans and address eligibility issues.
• Educate clinical teams on insurance navigation basics and collaborate to remove barriers to coverage.
• Track and document client interactions and outcomes in compliance with agency standards.
