Job summary

Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for 0.5FTE in the Outpatient General Surgery division at the La Mesa clinic. The role supports the General Surgery team with pre- and post-operative care and patient education.

The position requires at least two years of NP/PA experience in general surgery, California licensure, and current board certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of full-time NP/PA experience in a general surgery setting required.
• Procedural experience strongly preferred.
• Active, unrestricted California NP or PA license required.
• Current board certification in applicable specialty required.
• Must be comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities

• 0.5FTE half-time job share salaried position working 2-3 days per week.
• 100% outpatient position at SRS La Mesa supporting the General Surgery Division.
• Evaluates and manages patients with hernias, gallbladder disease, soft tissue masses (including cysts and lipomas), bariatric surgery conditions, and other common general surgery diagnoses.
• Provides comprehensive pre- and post- operative care, surgical follow-up, and patient education.
• Collaborates closely with board-certified general surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
