Job summary

Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group seeks an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for 100% outpatient General Surgery at the San Diego Frost Street North Clinic. The role supports the General Surgery Division with a strong emphasis on independent practice and procedural care.

Responsibilities include evaluating/general surgery patients, pre- and post-operative care, and collaborative care with surgeons. California NP/PA license and board certification are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of full-time NP/PA experience in a general surgery setting required.
• Procedural experience strongly preferred.
• Active, unrestricted California NP or PA license required.
• Current board certification in applicable specialty required.
• Must be comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and manages patients with hernias, gallbladder disease, soft tissue masses (including cysts and lipomas), bariatric surgery conditions, and other common general surgery diagnoses.
• Provides comprehensive pre- and post-operative care, surgical follow-up, and patient education.
• Collaborates closely with board-certified general surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
