Job summary

Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a 0.5 FTE outpatient General Surgery role at the La Mesa clinic. You will work 2–3 days weekly, evaluating and managing hernias, gallbladder disease, soft tissue masses, and other common general surgery conditions, with pre- and post-operative care and patient education.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of full-time NP/PA experience in general surgery.
• Active, unrestricted California NP or PA license.
• Current board certification in the applicable specialty.

Responsibilities

• 0.5 FTE half-time, outpatient position at SRS La Mesa.
• Evaluate and manage common general surgery conditions (hernia, gallbladder, etc.).

• Active, unrestricted California NP or PA license required
• Current board certification in applicable specialty required
• Must be comfortable working independently

Position Details

• 0.5FTE half-time job share salaried position working 2-3 days per week
• 100% outpatient position at SRS La Mesa supporting the General Surgery Division
• Evaluates and manages patients with hernias, gallbladder disease, soft tissue masses (including cysts and lipomas), bariatric surgery conditions, and other common general surgery diagnoses
• Provides comprehensive pre- and post-operative care, surgical follow-up, and patient education
• Collaborates closely with board-certified general surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care

Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group is committed to pay equity and transparency. Compensation is determined by a structured pay scale based on years of experience and applicable certifications, with final placement within the range confirmed during the recruitment process. The annual base salary range is $154,500.00-$216,537.30, with eligibility for bonuses, incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package. This position is represented by UNAC/UHCP under applicable labor agreements.
