Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in the United States is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient RN CAP 1 track within the Clinical Advancement Program. The role focuses on providing and coordinating clinically competent care for an assigned patient group, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in a hemodialysis setting.

As part of the End Stage Kidney Disease health care team, you will participate in decision-making, education, leadership, and quality improvement

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state RN licensure and CPR/BLS certification.
• Entry level RN with up to 2 years nephrology nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential functions under supervision and with guidance from educators and peers.
• Collect and analyze patient data before, during, and after hemodialysis and adjust care plan as needed.
• Educate patient and family on learning needs related to care.
• Deliver safe and effective hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with the team.
• Administer medications per protocol and document effectiveness.
• Participate in emergency response measures when required.
• Serve as a resource and assist with staff training and orientation.
• Ensure proper lab collection, processing, and shipping and reschedule missed lab collections.
• Update nursing assessment and care plan with interdisciplinary team.
• Educate patients about transplant options and treatment modalities.
• Complete CAP requirements to advance within the program.
