Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP 1 program. You will provide and coordinate clinically competent care for an assigned patient group, including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation during hemodialysis.

You will educate patients and families, collaborate with the team to deliver safe dialysis therapy, administer medications, and participate in emergency response and quality improvement activities, with CAP requirements for advancement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Perform data collection and analysis of patient data pre/during/post hemodialysis and update care plan.
• Educate patients and families on learning needs.
• Deliver safe hemodialysis therapy and collaborate with care staff.
• Administer medications as prescribed.
• Initiate emergency response measures.
• Lead or train staff as assigned.
• Ensure proper lab collection and processing.
• Document nursing assessment and plan with the interdisciplinary team.
• Discuss transplant and treatment modality options.
• Complete CAP requirements to advance.
