Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP program in a dialysis setting. You will provide and coordinate clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for an assigned patient group.

You will work under supervision, collaborating with RNs, LVN/LPNs, and patient care technicians, while advancing through the Clinical Advancement Program as required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state licensure.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience.
• Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.
• Performs systematic collection and analysis of patient data during hemodialysis and documents in the medical record, adjusts treatment plan as needed.
• Educates patients and families about learning needs and treatment options.
• Delivers safe and effective hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with the care team.
• Administers medications as prescribed and documents justification and effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Serves as a resource for the health care team and participates in staff training.
• Ensures proper laboratory collection, processing, and shipping procedures.
