Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in East Chicago, IN seeks an entry-level Outpatient RN CAP 1 to provide and coordinate clinically competent care for an assigned patient group, including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation during hemodialysis.

As part of the ESKD care team, you will collaborate with RN staff, undergo CAP requirements, and support education, documentation, and quality improvement within the clinic.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required (state)
• BLS/CPR certification required
• Experience in nephrology or dialysis settings preferred (entry level CAP)

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze patient data during dialysis and document in the medical record.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and treatment modalities.
• Administer medications as prescribed and document justification and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with the care team to provide safe, efficient hemodialysis treatment.
• Assist with emergency response and participate in ongoing quality improvement.
• Support supervision and training of new staff and patient care technicians.
