Job summary

Oneida Health is seeking an experienced Revenue Integrity Outpatient Coder Level II to join our team. The role focuses on accurate outpatient coding to optimize revenue capture and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will review medical records, assign CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 codes, collaborate with clinicians, participate in audits, and provide education on coding best practices. AHIMA CCS or CPC certification is preferred and Meditech EHR experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of outpatient coding experience in a hospital setting.
• Thorough understanding of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding systems.
• Knowledge of outpatient billing processes and reimbursement methodologies.
• Proficiency with Meditech or similar EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Review outpatient services to assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of coded information for billing and reimbursement.
• Stay updated on coding guidelines, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to resolve coding discrepancies.
• Work with the Revenue Integrity team to address coding-related issues.
• Provide feedback and education to staff on coding and documentation best practices.
• Participate in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives.
• Keep abreast of changes in coding systems and reimbursement methodologies.
