Job summary

Catholic Health Initiatives is seeking a Clinic Coder II to accurately abstract and code patient records in line with coding and billing guidelines. You will play a key role in optimizing the revenue cycle and ensuring compliant data submission across the clinic's financial operations.

You'll review records daily, apply ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding rules, participate in MS-DRG and APC assignments, and validate charges while maintaining strict confidentiality of medical information.

Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) upon hire or equivalent.
• Experience with medical billing and revenue cycle optimization.
• Proficiency in ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding rules.
• Experience with MS-DRG and APC assignments is preferred.
• Commitment to accuracy and data confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Abstract and code patient records accurately according to guidelines.
• Review records daily to determine diagnoses using ICD-9-CM and CPT-4.
• Sequence diagnostic and procedural codes and validate charges.
• Identify discrepancies and work with management to rectify accounts.
• Uphold ethical standards in medical billing and protect patient data.
