Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Health Information Management or coding certification.
• AHIMA or AAPC coding certification is required.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPC guidelines and payer rules.

Responsibilities

• Review outpatient records and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPC codes and modifiers.
• Abstract data into the coding system with patient and service details.
• Ensure accurate APC assignment per official coding guidelines and 3M sequencing.
• Educate physicians on coding issues and updates as needed.
• Collaborate with Coding leadership to ensure accuracy and compliance.
