Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks an ICD-10/ PCS coder to support leadership by coordinating administrative work, projects, and staff. Responsibilities include applying ICD-10-CM/PCS codes to inpatient accounts and maintaining departmental databases.

The role requires AHIMA/AAPC credentials and RHIA/RHIT or CIC certification, with Epic and 3M-360 coding tools advantageous. Qualifications include an AHIMA/AAPC coding program completion and an associate degree in Health Information Management.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in ICD-10-CM/PCS coding practices and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, confidentiality and medical records management.
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems and structured data handling.

Responsibilities

  • Assign ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS codes to inpatient accounts.
  • Compile and summarize data for reports and presentations.
  • Maintain department records and databases for final approval by management.
  • Coordinate scheduling, meetings, travel and reimbursements for the department.
  • Investigate billing problems and align with Patient Accounts and Coding staff.
  • Stay updated on coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements.
