Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic is seeking an Outpatient Clinical Care Assistant / Medical Assistant to support patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting in Cleveland, OH. You will perform health screenings, collect specimens, update medical records, stock rooms, and assist with exams and procedures.

You will work closely with RNs and licensed providers, participate in CPR and emergency care, and ensure a welcoming environment for patients and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of an approved medical assisting program or equivalent.
• BLS certification required within new-hire period.
• Clinical externship or equivalent in a clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in an outpatient clinic under RN or LIP supervision.
• Complete rooming with vitals, documentation, and report abnormal findings.
• Collect specimens, perform point-of-care testing, prepare labs.
• Assist with exams, tests, procedures (EKG, Holter, oxygen, vision/hearing screenings).
• Administer treatments as directed and manage wound care.
• Document in the electronic health record and prepare daily clinic setup.
• Stock supplies, maintain rooms, and ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Initiate CPR and other emergency measures as needed.
• Support medication management and patient monitoring as part of care.
