Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks an Outpatient Clinical Care Assistant for the Orthopedics-Ambulatory Operations at The Richard Jacobs Health Center in Avon, Ohio. You will support patients and caregivers in a fast-paced outpatient setting, performing health screenings, collecting specimens, updating records and maintaining exam rooms.

Responsibilities include vitals, documentation, assisting with exams and procedures, wound care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Understanding of human anatomy and basic patient care activities.
• BLS Certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (within new hire period).
• One year of healthcare experience in a hospital or ambulatory setting or additional formal training/education.

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care in an outpatient clinic under supervision of RN or LIP.
• Complete the rooming process with vitals, intake questions, documentation and reporting abnormal findings.
• Collect patient specimens, perform point of care testing and prepare specimens for lab transport.
• Prepare patients for and assist with exams and procedures (EKG, Holter monitor, pulse oximetry, hearing/vision screening).
• Administer treatments including heat/cold applications, wound care, dressings, casts, braces or splints.
• Document in the electronic health record.
• Assist with setting and closing the clinic; stock supplies and linens; monitor expirations; restock dressing supply carts.
