Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join a physician practice/ambulatory clinic setting. The role includes triage, assisting with exams, immunizations and medications, patient education, and care coordination to support chronic disease management and prevention.

Requirements include ADN (BSN preferred), 1–2 years ambulatory/clinic experience, active RN license, NCLEX-RN, and BLS; AMB-BC is a plus. Competitive base pay and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• 1-2 years ambulatory/clinic/medical-surgical nursing preferred.
• Current state RN license; NCLEX-RN; BLS. AMB-BC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and perform triage in person and by phone.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications and immunizations.
• Provide patient education and self-management support.
• Coordinate referrals, follow-up and continuity of care.
• Manage patient messages and results within scope.
• Support population health outreach.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and stocked clinical environment.
• Document care in the EHR.
