The Physician Practice and Clinic Registered Nurse provides nursing care to patients in a physician practice or ambulatory clinic setting. Reporting to practice or nursing leadership, this role assesses patients, assists with procedures and examinations, administers medications and immunizations, and provides patient education and care coordination. An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is required. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
One to two years of ambulatory, clinic, or medical-surgical nursing experience is preferred.
Current state RN license is required. Successful completion of the NCLEX-RN examination is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Ambulatory Care Nursing (AMB-BC) certification is preferred.
Skilled ambulatory assessment and triage. Knowledge of chronic disease management, prevention, and immunizations. Ability to assist with procedures and examinations. Strong patient education and care coordination. Effective telephone and message triage. Proficiency with the electronic health record and clinical documentation. Comfort supporting population health outreach.
