Job summary

Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus seeks an Outpatient Clinical Care Assistant to support patients and caregivers in a fast-paced outpatient setting. You will perform health screenings, collect specimens, update medical records, stock rooms and monitor patient conditions to ensure quality care.

The role includes rooming, assisting with exams and procedures, EMR documentation and emergency response. Requires BLS and 1 year healthcare experience or equivalent training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Understanding of human anatomy and basic patient care activities.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross within new-hire period.
• One year of healthcare experience in hospital/ambulatory settings OR equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care in an outpatient clinic under RN or LIP supervision.
• Complete rooming with vitals, intake questions, documentation and reporting abnormal findings.
• Collect patient specimens and prepare specimens for lab transport.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist with tests and procedures (EKG, Holter monitoring, pulse oximetry, hearing/vision screening).
• Administer treatments as directed (heat/cold therapy, dressing changes, casts/splints).
• Review printed instructions with patients and assist with wound care.
• Document in the electronic health record and assist with clinic setup/closure.
• Stock supplies, monitor expirations, restock dressing carts, check AED units and oxygen tanks.
• Initiate CPR and other emergency measures when needed.
