Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking an Medical Assistant/Outpatient Clinical Care Assistant for the General Surgery team at the Main Campus in Cleveland. You will support outpatient clinic operations, perform rooming, vitals, specimen collection, and assist with exams and procedures in a patient-first environment.

Shifts are 8:00am–4:30pm, Monday through Friday, with no weekend or holiday requirements.

Qualifications

• Outpatient clinical care experience preferred or required.
• Ability to assist with exams, vitals, specimen collection, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care in an outpatient clinic under supervision of RN or LIP.
• Complete rooming: vitals, intake questions, documentation; report abnormal findings.
• Collect specimens, perform point-of-care testing and prepare for lab transport.
• Prepare patients for exams/procedures (EKG, screenings, etc.).
• Administer treatments as directed and assist with wound care.
• Document in the electronic health record and maintain orderly clinic operations.

Skills

Healthcare experience

BLS certification

Education

High school diploma or GED

Externship/clinical experience preferred
