Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is hiring an Ambulatory Surgical Unit Assistant at the Main Campus in Cleveland, OH. The role supports patient care under RN supervision, transports patients, assists with preoperative activities, and helps with sterilization and inventory in a fast-paced ambulatory surgical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required.
• Three months of on-the-job training after selection to learn department procedures.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients of all ages throughout surgical and procedural areas.
• Assist with preoperative preparation and patient flow.
• Assist with instrument decontamination, inspection, assembly and sterilization.
• Maintain surgical equipment and supply inventory; assemble case carts.
• Sanitize operating rooms and coordinate repairs/replacement of equipment.
• Manage transportation of specimens, medical equipment and regulated waste.
• Support departmental quality and safety initiatives.
