Job summary

ArborMetrics is seeking a Work Planner to join our vegetation management team in the Indiana area. You will operate outdoors, document vegetation work, and use tablets and forestry software while maintaining safety and high service standards.

The role requires GIS, Microsoft Office, and field mobility with strong communication skills and independence. We offer comprehensive benefits and ongoing training in a dynamic field environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of tree species identification, hazard tree assessment, invasive species management, and growth patterns.
• Ability to hike/drive long hours and work outdoors in varied weather and terrain.
• Familiarity with Utility Vegetation Management practices, GIS, Microsoft Office, and iPhone.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving and multi-tasking skills; adaptable.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report safety hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions.
• Follow safety standards including driving, wildfire prevention, injury prevention.
• Promote AMS values through daily actions with the public and staff.
• Drive to work sites, hike rights-of-way up to 10 miles/day, document vegetation work.
• Record vegetation data using tablets and specialized software; use forestry systems.
• Address customer concerns and communicate with leadership, clients, landowners, public.
• Participate in storm and emergency response duties as needed; other duties as assigned.
