Job summary

ArborMetrics is seeking a Work Planner for outdoor field operations, focusing on vegetation management and safety compliance. You will plan work for crews, identify hazards, and record data using tablets and forestry software while coordinating with clients and leadership.

The role requires the ability to hike and drive for extended periods, knowledge of Utility Vegetation Management, and comfort working alone in varied weather. Training and certifications are provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of tree species identification and hazard assessment.
• Able to hike/drive for extended periods of time.
• Knowledgeable about Utility Vegetation Management practices.
• Experience with GIS software/technology as well as Microsoft Suite and an iPhone.
• Must be able to work alone, outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report safety hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions.
• Follow AMS safety standards and protocols.
• Plan work to be completed by contracted herbicide crews and aerial saw vendors.
• Identify and mark hazards in the ROW and plan herbicide and substation bare grounds and mow work.
• Record vegetation data using tablets and specialized software.
• Use forestry computer systems for data entry and tracking.
• Communicate effectively with leadership, auditors, clients, contractors, landowners, and the public.
• Participate in storm and emergency response duties and carry out additional duties as assigned.
