Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Utility Tree Trimmer to join our outdoor crew in Richmond, KY. Your office is outdoors, and you’ll enjoy a new view each day.

Responsibilities include climbing with DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS, pruning and removing trees for major electric utilities, and safely operating tools such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts. You’ll work as part of a crew with foreperson guidance.

Qualifications

• Must love the outdoors.
• Must complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Must complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates, if required by state law.
• Preferred: ISA/TCIA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems.
• Perform pruning and removal for major electric utilities.
• Prune treetops and remove damaged limbs.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs and other objects.
• Identify trees and apply industry pruning guidelines.
• Maintain and operate chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and related gear.
• Work as part of an active crew with ground crew and foreperson.
