Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation’s Amarillo District is hiring Transportation Maintenance Tech I/II/III for outdoor field work. You’ll join a crew maintaining roadways, operating equipment, and assisting with traffic control. Roles vary by level, with increasing responsibilities and CDL requirements.

Qualifications

• Education: None
• Experience: TMT I = No experience; TMT II = 1 year; TMT III = 2 years; experience related to transportation engineering support, roadway maintenance, construction inspection, heavy equipment operation, or related work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with traffic control: set up cones and signs and guide traffic.
• Operate light to heavy equipment as specified.
• Perform PMI inspections and routine maintenance on equipment.
• Support public safety during emergencies and incidents.
