Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. seeks a Tractor Technician Trainee in Joliet, IL. Under close supervision, you will gain foundational knowledge of tools, shop safety, and company policies while learning air brake systems and FHWA inspections.

You may work outdoors and across shifts, including nights or weekends, with full-time attendance and opportunities to advance through hands-on training and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Willingness to work outdoors/in elements and across shifts including nights/weekends.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
• Basic reading/understanding of English language.

Responsibilities

• Shadow a senior technician to learn repairs per company and manufacturer specs and improve efficiency.
• Follow all shop safety procedures and wear PPE as required.
• Maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers at all times.
• Train in routine preventative maintenance and knowledge of air brake systems and FHWA inspections.
