Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) seeks a field technician to support geospatial and construction-phase solutions nationwide. You will assist in identifying utilities, operate field equipment, and help implement traffic control plans while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company MVR standards.
• Ability to travel for extended periods.
• Work outdoors under the full range of weather conditions typically experienced throughout all seasons of the year.
• Ability to walk for extended periods over irregular terrain while carrying surveying equipment (up to 30 lbs).
• Pickup and carry equipment up to 50 lbs for short distances, loading/unloading as needed.
• Remove and replace manhole lids/covers weighing up to 50 lbs with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying utilities, structures, and control points on plans/maps and in the field.
• Perform operator-level maintenance on assigned tools and equipment.
• Assist in implementing approved traffic control plans.
• Develop skills through certification programs for advancement.
• Efficiently use equipment to record data of utilities, structures, and control points in the field.
• Operate vacuum truck and related tools/equipment (jackhammer, pogo-tamper, concrete saw, compressor, hoses, etc.).
• Drive commercial motor vehicles.
• Other tasks as assigned.
