Job summary

Talbot County Government seeks a part-time Recreation Program Assistant to support Parks and Recreation in Easton, MD. The role involves supervising setup and teardown, managing reservations and events, and ensuring a safe, welcoming facility environment.

You will be the first point of contact for patrons, deliver excellent customer service, and help with program information, conflict resolution, and access control. Flexibility and teamwork are essential as schedules may change weekly.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old (18 preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in youth sports/recreation preferred.
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and varying hours based on program needs.
• Able to participate in games, sports, and physical activities.
• Able to maintain attention and high energy levels for extended periods.
• Must be able to spend majority of time outdoors and tolerate various weather conditions.
• Enthusiastic and positive attitude.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by looking up and sharing accurate information.
• Assist with supervision of participants in outdoor and center-based programs or activities.
• Set up and break down equipment.
• Monitor activities and ensure a clean, safe, and supportive environment.
• Lead recreation activities.
• Assist with problem-solving and troubleshooting during programs or activities.
• Assist with cleaning and organizing of facility or program.
