Outdoor Program - Rental Technician

Location: Weber State University - Ogden, UT

Position: Outdoor Program Rental Technician

Hours per week: Up to 20 hours

Responsibilities
  • Checking out, checking in, inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining outdoor equipment.
  • Registering participants for adventure programs.
  • Handling loading and unloading of equipment to and from vehicles.
  • Assisting with equipment reservation, rental, inspection, and maintenance.
  • Providing customers with information about locations and suggestions for outdoor recreation.
  • Providing general instructions on the use of outdoor equipment.
  • Performing emergency care procedures in the event of injury or emergency.
  • Other duties as specified by the Outdoor Program Coordinator, Assistant Coordinator, and/or Rental Manager.
Required Qualifications
  • General knowledge of outdoor equipment and its use.
  • CPR/AED and Standard First Aid Certification.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent customer service at all times.
  • Professional and attentive presence.
  • Proficiency in equipment reservation, rental, inspection, and maintenance.
  • Current CPR and First-aid certifications.
  • Attendance at mandatory monthly meetings, orientations, and staff development workshops.
  • Assistance with the loading and unloading of equipment to and from vehicles.
  • Understanding of employee policies and procedures as stated in the Outdoor Program employee policy and procedures manual.
  • Assisting with maintenance and cleanliness of the Outdoor Program.
  • Registering participants for adventure programs, clinics, and workshops.
  • Providing customers with information about locations and suggestions for outdoor recreation.
  • Providing general instructions on the use of outdoor equipment.
  • Following emergency care procedures.
  • Performing other duties as specified by the Outdoor Program Coordinator, Assistant Coordinator and/or Rental Manager.
  • Knowledgeable of Campus Recreation programs and services.
  • Preference given to those with Federal Work Study status.
