The Construction Materials Testing team provides training, allowing you to gain industry certifications in ACI, VDOT, OSHA and more as you grow your career. The Construction Field Technician Trainee role is open to both full-time and part-time applicants, with a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Interest in construction, engineering, or field work.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 85 pounds and stay active through the shift.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Travel to construction sites in the Fredericksburg region to perform field testing of soil, concrete, and other materials.
• Collaborate with contractors, engineers and inspectors on active projects.
• Conduct basic field tests using specialized equipment and standard procedures.
• Document test results and site observations using a tablet or field reports.
• Inform project managers and field supervisors about testing needs or site conditions.
• Maintain and properly use testing equipment, adhering to safety standards.
