Job summary

Bell Lumber & Pole is hiring a Lumber Yard Laborer in Bellingham, WA. The role involves shaping and refining utility poles, using power tools, and ensuring quality products for utility customers.

You will perform ground-line prep, assist with yard tasks, and work with safety-focused procedures in an outdoor setting. High school diploma or equivalent and ability to read a tape measure are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read a tape measure with accuracy and apply basic math skills.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specifications.
• Ability to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the company.

Responsibilities

• Shape and refine utility poles by setting the “face” and drilling holes with power tools.
• Place identification tags on poles and ensure they meet standards.
• Perform ground-line preparation and verify poles meet industry standards.
• Assist with yard and plant tasks to keep operations running smoothly.
• Work with hand and power tools following all safety procedures.
• Collaborate with a team in an outdoor environment and perform other duties as assigned.
